2. Data We Do NOT Collect
Your keystrokes are 100% private. Keyshepherd is fundamentally designed with privacy first. The core typing engine, smart auto-switching, and snippet expansion run entirely locally on your machine. We do not track, record, or transmit what you type to our servers or any third parties.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to provide and manage your account and licenses:
- Account Information: When you log in via Google, we receive your basic profile information (Name, Email address, and Profile Picture) to create and identify your account.
- Subscription Data: We securely sync your license status, registered device IDs (to manage your 2 or 3 device limits), and plan type via Firebase Firestore.
- Cloud Sync Data (Premium): If you use cloud syncing for custom shortcuts and snippets, that data is securely stored in your personal cloud database linked to your account.
4. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to provide and improve Keyshepherd services:
- To authenticate your identity and manage your active devices.
- To process payments securely through our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy.
- To provide customer support and send important account-related updates.
5. Third-Party Services
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We rely on industry-standard third-party providers for specific functionalities:
- Google & Firebase: Used for secure authentication and cloud database syncing.
- Lemon Squeezy: Used as our payment processor. They handle all sensitive billing information securely. We do not store your credit card details.
