Install steps

Windows

  1. Run Keyshepherd-Setup-Windows.exe.
  2. Important: If you see a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen, click More info, and then click Run anyway.
  3. Finish the installer, then open Keyshepherd from the Start menu.

Mac

  1. Extract the downloaded .zip file and drag Keyshepherd to your Applications folder.
  2. Open Keyshepherd and allow Accessibility permissions when prompted.

Troubleshooting & Login

1. Browser Login Popup

When you launch Keyshepherd for the first time, it will open your web browser to log in. After logging in successfully, your browser will ask for permission to open the app (e.g., "Open Keyshepherd 2026?"). You must click Allow or Open to return to the app and start typing.

2. Windows "SmartScreen" Warning

Because this is a newly released version, Microsoft Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. This is normal for new software. Simply click More info and then click Run anyway to continue installation.

3. Mac "Unidentified Developer" Warning

If macOS blocks the app saying it cannot be checked for malicious software, go to your Mac's System Settings > Privacy & Security. Scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Keyshepherd.
